    By Taxi

Taxis are plentiful in Copenhagen. All taxis are licensed by the authorities and are equipped with meters. Taxis can be flagged down anywhere in the city. If the yellow "Taxa" light on the roof of the car or in the front window is on, the taxi is available for hire.

The meter begins at DKK 24 when hailed on the street and DKK 37 when you book over the phone. Plus roughly:

    • DKK 11,50 per km/half mile on weekdays between 07:00 - 16:00.
    • DKK 12,50 between 16:00 - 07:00 and all Saturday and Sunday.
    • DKK 15,80 Friday - Saturday betweem 23:00 - 07:00 and all national holidays.

Fares include a service charge, so tips are not expected. You can bring a maximum of two bikes for DK 20 extra per bike. Some taxi companies charge DKK 20 to help carry your luggage to the door.

    By Metro
The Copenhagen Metro is the world's most modern and runs between Copenhagen airport and city centre - to the benefit of both visitors and locals. It takes 15 minutes to get from the airport to Kongens Nytorv in the heart of the city, but of course you can also get off at a number of other stations, like Christianshavn and Nørreport or continue all the way to the final stop, Vanløse.

The driverless Metro trains operates at four - six minutes' intervals during the day and evening hours and every 15 - 20 minutes during the night. Between 01:00 - 01:30 and 04:00 -04:30 you will have to wait a little longer, as the trains switch from nighttime to daytime operation and vice versa.

    By train
Train from Kastrup, the airport, to Central Train Station in 12 minutes

Copenhagen is the capital in Europe with the shortest distance from an international airport to the city centre.

Beneath Terminal 3, which is where you arrive and pass through customs, there is a train station. From here you have a twelve minute train ride to Central Station in Copenhagen - in Danish called Hovebanegården. During the day these trains run regularly every ten minutes.
