Grand Tour of Copenhagen – 2½ hours:
The Grand Tour of Copenhagen is an extensive tour covering all the major sights of the Danish Capital.  On the tour we pass by the Tivoli Gardens and the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek. We drive through the colourful canal district and past the National Museum, by Christiansborg Palace, home to the Danish Parliament. We continue on to The Old Stock Exchange and across Kongens Nytorv, where we can see the Royal Theatre, world famous for its Royal Ballet.

 

The tour continues past the colourful harbour district of Nyhavn to Amalienborg Palace – Winter residence of the Royal Family. Here we have the opportunityof seeing the changing of the Guard. This is followed by a visit to the Gefion Fountain and The Little Mermaid, inspired by H. C. Andersen’s fairytale.

 

During the tour we pay a visit to one of the many magnificent churches in Copenhagen as well as pass by Rosenborg Castle, where the Crown Jewels are protected by the Royal Guard.

City & Harbour tour – 2½ hours:
This tour starts off by car and continues by boat. The car passes by most of the major sights of Copenhagen - e.g. the National Gallery, New Carlsberg Glyptotek, the magnificent Gefion Fountain and Kongens Nytorv (the kings square).

 

At The Old Fishmarket a pre-booked boat is waiting to take you on a cruise through the bustling harbour of Copenhagen. From the boat you can enjoy the many wonderful towers and famousplaces of Copenhagen. One of the great highlights ofthe trip is The Little Mermaid. The cruise continues through the picturesque canals of Christianshavn and Frederiksholm, where historical buildings are to be enjoyed side by side withnew architecture.

Castle tour of North Sealand – 7 hours:
As we leave Copenhagen and head north, for almost a whole hour, the coastline of Sweden follows us. We drive through the magnificent Danish countryside and pass the coastline to Elsinore and Kronborg Castle.

 

It is quite easy to understand why William Shakespeare chose Elsinore Castle as the setting for his famous play 'Hamlet'. Enjoy the beautiful surroundings and feel the atmosphere taken through the Chapel and the Knights' Hall (the longest room in Northern Europe) and the dark casemates.

 

After the break, our tour continues to Fredensborg. The Queen's summer residence of Fredensborg Palace is attractively located in the middle of a lovely park, bordering the idyllic Esrom lake. The next highlight on this tour of many highlights is Frederiksborg Castle, built by King Christian IV. This pearl of history, built in magnificent Renaissance style, is now a national historical museum. It contains paintings, tapestries, porcelain, silver and furniture of great historical value.
This tour is the classic amongst excursions while visiting Denmark.

 

After the visit to Kronborg Castle, it will be possible to havelunchat a classic Danish restaurant in North Sealand. The lunch is not included in the price.
